from time to time i will announce things here.
if its a real live museum blog there should be announcements, right?
here's the very first one:

true crimes and misdemeanors in white river junction...
this coming saturday the main street museum is proud to announce a history tour of white river jct. -- a true crimes and misdemeanors tour -- lead by local author and photographer eric francis.
many have seen this man scratch his red-haired head at the scene of a crime. more often than not, however, you may have seen him just standing around downtown rio blanco, scratching his head waiting for a crime to happen. this is his usual aspect; and because of this he is "in the know" about the local scene; the joys the sorrows, the hundred acts of kindness -- and the very occasional horrific and blood curdling atrocity -- that go on every day here and make white river junction what it is to so many of us -- Home.
our own unique version of a foliage tour begins at the hotel coolidge lobby at 4:30 p.m.
saturday 15 october, 2005
we will "go on a bender" down south main street and discuss illegal gaming, prohibition and intoxication in general
after this we will cruise past the "filling station" saloon, where we may loose some of our crew. o well. these things happen.
at this point we might describe the railroads and read charles cummings 1933 description of the "riot on gates street"
circling around the coolidge to the site of teddys hotel and the "adam's pool hall" on north main street we will get "rounded up" by the "law" as we end up at the old fire station -- site of the police switchboard, within sight of the municipal building with its historic basement jail cell. the fire station and the town offices both abut the bridge, a bridge made famous by falling into the water a few times through the 20th century and by the "mind benders" biker gang who took it over in the early 1970's.
a wine and cheese reception will be offered at the fire station, 58 bridge street, at 5:30 -- 7 p.m.
please join us for this free public event!
