we are honored to have the CCS, the center for cartoon studies library, as our neighbor in the renovated 19th fire station. we are also honored to host robyn and to celebrate her funny, culturally relevant anthology of cartoonists' real-life sexual experiences. its just been reviewed by the village voice. here's an excerpt:

I'm not really sure whether Suicide Girls' Daniel Robert Epstein's assertion that "cartoonists have the most fucked-up sex life" is true, but the ones whose work is printed here ... have turned their art into catharsis, taking time to laugh at (or about), mock, or simply isolate a moment in their sexual histories, rendered as absurdly, accurately, or adorably as they (care to) recall. TP addresses many of the sexual dilemmas people face: Am I normal? Why won't she sleep with me? What will the first time I (insert wild sex act here) be like?

Manning Leonard Krull's "Ménage à Duh" is my favorite piece. He portrays himself as a lovably dorky punk rocker, complete with mohawk, tattoos, and piercings, who manages to evade three different threesomes with hot girls—his thought bubbles ("Fuck fuck fuck stupid stupid stupid stupid") and cluelessness are amusing and adorable, showing the other side of "every man's fantasy." If you've ever thought, "I can't believe this is happening" in bed, True Porn will show you that you're not alone.

javier cintron's work has been seen at venues from el museo del barrio in nyc, galleries in nyc, mexico city, the dominican republic and beyond. he has added several new pieces to his show here at the museum -- a show that features buildings and scenes of white river jct and views of san juan, burlington, VT, and new york.
the artist's extensive journals span three continents and form the basis of many of his finished artworks -- both collage and prints on paper and paintings on canvas.
his woodblock prints and collage have recently been seen at the two rivers printmaking studio where he teaches courses in printmaking and paper conservation.
this will mark the second opening of sr. cintron's work here.
the museum has had four locations around town, and this is the fourth grand-opening in our present and final location -- the former fire station of rio blanco. perhaps 4 x 4 = well, we wont delve into numerology, but the 4th times a charm and we would be charmed to see you down here.
