matt's teaching me code...

fd1 SM dff03

tonight matt is teaching me how to place pictures in the blog. (very important. in the 21st century we are very visual animals) in order to place pictures, one must write css code; so im learning to be a codewarrior. its a cascade and a cascade that i find i like. on some level i wish i had been a programmer. its like brain surgery. you enter a brain (the harddrive) and make the brain do things. sort of like a lobotomy for the computer. the commands cause one thing to effect another, which leads to a third thing. there is a flow to code, but in really obvious, blatant ways. of course the blatancy and obviousness of it all would change if i were writing more advanced code. then i like to think i would code with elegance and even wit — or at least with humor; this is possible in the code world, or so im told.
so, heres a picture of the building the museum is in, white river junction's 19th century fire station. the picture was taken before i started renovating it (photo: mark e. merrill). gosh. enjoy.

these actors are really wooden...

the girls and boys rooms...

These are the graffiti left in the lavatory of the Main Street Museum between ca. June 2005 and November 16th 2005, c.e.
These scratchings are a fitting beginning to the lavatory at the Museum websight. This will be a continuation of earlier Main Street Museum bathrooms. You see, in the past you've been able to leave graffiti in our e-bathroom. (The new msm website has a place for e-postings—its here, on the museum blog) Now in the new museum headquarters on Bridge Street however, you can leave actual graffiti in our bathroom and not be embarrassed, or arrested, after doing so. The wall of the bathroom here is painted with chalkboard paint, and a basket of colored chalk is handy-by. Knock yourselves out. Before I erase it all tomorrow tho, I thought Id preserve it, and post it. Enjoy.
[editor’s note: ive put everything in lower case and presented these writings punctuation-free. Comments are in square brackets like these…]
